The Mine
EMPIRE is named for one of the oldest, deepest and richest mines of the California gold rush. One of the longest running mines in history, the Empire seduced miners for more than a century. Between 1850 and 1956, more than 5.8 million ounces of gold were discovered.
Tales of glittering glory lured miners from near and far. Often risking life and limb to reach the Empire, those who survived were thrivers with a spirit that embodied never giving up.
